Guitar strings get out of tune about 4-6 mins after tuning?

I was playing three shows last night and i tuned my guitar and put it on the stand for a while. Then my band was up and i was playing and i noticed some strings where totally out of tune?? When ever i go to a show i buy a new pair of strings. i usually buy gibson brite wires but now i switched to ernie ball super slinky strings.
why does it always get out of tune?? ITS SO ANNOYING!!

I don't recommend putting on new strings before a show, unless you have at least a few hours before show time, and you are able to jam on the guitar periodically before it. It's just adding more stress before show time.

I'll usually throw on some new strings, the day before, or the morning of. But I always put in a few hours of jammin on it after the new strings are on.

It's a good tip to stretch the new strings while you put them on. This will help reduce them from stretching while they are on the guitar.

The other thing too is to get your guitar setup. Every guitar is setup to a specific gauge of strings. Do you know what yours is? If you put thicker or lighter gauge strings then what the guitar is set for, then your guitar won't stay in tune as well. I'd recommend spending the $40 at a guitar shop and getting your guitar setup for the gauged strings you prefer. Once you do this, your guitar even with new strings, will stay in tune a lot better.

My guitar is setup perfectly right now. I can get away with throwin on new strings, tuning it once, jamming for a few minutes, tune it again, and they'll usually stay in tune after that.
