Steps to installing a Seymour Duncan Pickup?

Recently I purchased a Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimbucker pickup for my guitar. I decided to install the pickup myself but afterwords the pickup did not work correctly. My guitar still produces a sound, but nowhere near the expectation of the Seymour Duncan. The notes don't ring out as they should, my hammer-ons and pull-offs are almost not there, and the guitar produces no noise when I drop the whammy bar.

Could this problem have been caused from a problem during soldering? I'd prefer to fix this myself if at all possible.
