what does 'slinky' mean referring to ernie ball guitar strings?
does it have to do with gauge?
Yes, that is true historically and that's why the strings are called "slinky" = "slim".
In the 1960s, Ernie Ball noticed that beginning students were having difficulty playing the bestselling Fender #100 medium gauge strings, particularly in holding down the 29-gauge third string.
"The third guitar string was a 29 gauge, like a giant cable, and the poor kids were getting finger blisters", he said.
See:
http://www.ernieball.com/history/
He approached the Fender company with the problem, suggesting a lighter gauge but was rebuffed. Ball simply started his own operation and commissioned his own manufacturer to make lighter gauge guitar strings.
Note that in the modern day, this is a bit of a misnomer as you can actually buy a wide range of gauges from them:

Also note that a lot of other string makers were inspired to "slim down" thanks to Ernie Ball, so that now Fender and EB will actually overlap in the gauges offered.
Which strings you choose is now down to personal preference - your favourite brand will certainly have light gauge strings if you want them.

i saw on youtube a pedal powered tennis ball machine. Anyone know how to make something similar or have the plans for it? Instead of 2 bike wheels do you thinks 4 wheels would work to make it spin differently?
a motar would be better but im not good with that kind of stuff. if theres an easy way to make it with motar please say.
i want a tennis ball machine with spins that would make it spin horizontal and vertical.

Your Ultimate Guide To Fender Guitar Cases
Generally fender guitar cases come in three different varieties: soft shell cases, gig bags, and hard shell cases.
Here's a breakdown of what each one entails, and tips on how to find a Fender guitar case that'll keep your strat or telly good as new.
Case No.1: Going Soft
It used to be gig bags wouldn't protect a tank let alone a nice guitar. But fender guitar cases today are made of much better material and can really keep your guitar safe in transport.
Though your modern gig bag is light years away from the cheap crap of the past, it's still important to look at the gig bag seams. Make sure they are double-stitched, and possibly rolled. This will keep moisture out-and go a long way toward indicating durability.
Another thing to consider when buying a guitar gig bag is the amount of storage. Sure, you'll have room for picks and capos and strings...but if you like to carry sheet music and notebooks be sure to find a gig bag that can accomodate.
Case No.2: Middle Road
When you need slightly more padding and proctection than a gig bag can give you then a fender soft shell case will probably the one you need.
Gig bags are great, but the padding inside them just doesn't stack up to soft shell case, which is generally made from plastic molds. (Perfect for keeping dings and scratches away.)
But their biggest advantage is their foam interior which protects the most expensive part of the guitar...the neck. Everything else can get repaired, but screw up the neck and you're screwed.
Case No.3: Go Hard or Go Home
If you're gonna be on the road alot then you'll definitely want to look into a hard shell case.
One good guideline is: if you're not able to see your guitar while you're traveling--like on a plan--then you NEED a hard shell case.
It's true that hard shell cases are a bit on the heavy side. But that bulk is protection--and is key to protecting the guitar that you want to keep safe.
I just got a stock fender squier strat affinity any ideas on upgrades and strings?
yea and before anyone answers please i don't want to know how much you dislike my guitar. that is not helpful. Thank You
I just go with the ernie ball strings. 10 guage. They're a decent price and you really don't need those fancy-type strings. You may want to put in some texas special pickups. These are the type stevie ray vaughn used if you are familiar. If you don't like that sound then just get some better, high quality pickups. That's the only upgrade that's worth doing. You don't really need anything else.

Golf Balls - 4 Tips To Get One That Suits Your Style
It is good to know that there is a certain aspect of the game of golf that wants very little investment to improve, and it is the golf ball. While some people want balls that can give them extra control when they spin it, others want that extra bit of distance that can help when they use their irons on the course. Whatever the style of your game is, there is a certain kind of ball for any one of us, and it is only a matter of time before you get a personal favorite. But do remember, it is only patience and practice that can perfect your game of golf, the ball itself is useless in the wrong hands.
1. The variety you can practice with
Perfecting your golf is only a matter of time, and patience. To get the right swing you will have to practice it relentlessly. But why waste expensive balls as you do this? It is a great idea to keep a good supply of inexpensive balls when you are practicing at home or on the range. Maybe you could use the softer plastic variety so you can safely practice wherever you are, without a risk to an unsuspecting passer by! However, the balls need to be on a good quality when you are practicing a certain kind of shot, and that is best done on the course itself.
2. The variety that helps you get better control
You may be one of those players that have a strong hit but not too much accuracy. There are golf balls especially made for such players that can block out all unnecessary spin and curve. When you hit these balls on the fairway, you can be assured they will travel straight as long as they are struck correctly. This can help them stop on the greens without steering away from the hole once they hit the grass as well.
3. The variety that can help you cover more yards
Some of us players struggle to cover a large distance and there’s something on the market for us as well. These balls are mad to cover the longest distance and can startle you when you first strike one. The aerodynamics of these balls can leave you in awe as they cover hundreds of yards with a good firm strike.
4. The novel versions
Here’s a little fun! Not everything on the market is made for the serious golfer. Ever heard of a golf ball that lights up in multiple colors once it’s struck? Well, that is available on the markets, and so is one version shaped like a football. Needless to say, they are only meant as a joke and no serious golfer would want to use such a variety in a game, and nor would they be allowed to in any case.
to start d game and each extra period, the ball shall be put into play in the center restaraning area by what?
to start the game and each extrs period, the ball shall be put into play in the center restraining area by what? basketball game.
no only in the beginning of the game you should do a jump ball. after that the next quarter starts off with the team that lost the jump ball, and same in the third quarter and last quarter the ball is going to go with the team that won the tipoff, good questions, ilike your questions they are unique and hard to answer.

Try the Exercise Ball Out at Home
Exercise ball workout should not be considered a traditional work out option but it has become quite popular in the last few years. Often they prove to be extremely helpful for fitness freak people who have busy schedules. Though most of the gyms have exercise balls, you need not be a regular member in order to avail this work-out option. It is pretty easy to achieve the correct postures with the exercise balls and for this you just need few days practice. You can lose weight effectively as well as increase your stamina with these exercise techniques. Here are few exercises that you can try out at home.
You need to start with some warm-up exercises. You can do the shrugs sitting straight on the ball. Bending your body with the support of the ball at the back and folded legs you can do the "body balancer" exercise as a starter exercise. Twisting your hips and "seated chest openers" will also help you to stretch the muscles and you are absolutely ready to take up the main work out regime.
There are certain exercises that normally work on your upper body. Wheelbarrow is one of then where you need to keep your legs straight on the exercise ball and balance the upper body on your hands. Then there is walk away where you have to sit on the ball at first and then gradually use your legs to move away from the position and then come back to the previous position. In the mean time the upper body will be on the ball itself and you will be facing the ceiling. When you use the dumb-bells in the walk away position to do the chest-press, it tones the upper body and chest part effectively. Push-ups, bicep curls and shoulder press become easy with the ball.
If you have the extra flab in your abdomen and back side then the lower body work-outs with the exercise ball is of great help for you. The abdominal and core crunches eliminate the extra kilos from the lower abdomen. Hip rolling movements and oblique crunches reduced flab from back and waist. Using the ball you can crawl on the walls which will effectively shape your buttocks and legs. Wall sliding and hamstring-curls will generate similar benefits. You can also stretch the body after a complete work out session as this will leave no post exercise fatigue in your body.
The exercise ball workouts are extremely beneficial for those who have slight health problems. They often find it pretty tough to attain the correct postures. As the ball allows you to balance and put the body weight on it you can concentrate more on the details of the posture. The stress factor is reduced greatly from the exercises. You also get to practice balancing which leads to a flexible and supple body. So try these techniques regularly and you will get to see the positive effects within a short span of time.
What exactly is the difference between a viz-a-ball than a regular bowling ball?
Viz a balls are plastic, have pictures, and hook much less while regular ones are made of urethane and hook much more
