Bridge or Implant? Which is Right for Me?
There are a variety of cosmetic dentistry options available today that can be used to replace missing teeth, including a dental bridge or dental implant. The decision to use one instead of another depends on various factors. Consider that one treatment option may be right for one person and wrong for the next person with the same condition.
In general, if you are missing a single tooth, a dental implant is usually your best option. If the teeth on both sides of your missing tooth need crowns, a bridge is the most sensible choice.
Dental bridges
When you have lost one or multiple teeth and have a tooth on both sides of the open space, replacement teeth can be attached or “bridged” to two crowns placed on the two adjacent teeth. This type of bridge is called a fixed bridge.
A bridge is the traditional method for replacing a missing tooth. It is important to keep in mind that a bridge must attach to one or two adjacent crowns. To hold the crowns, these teeth must be prepared, or ground down, so that the crowns can fit on top of them.
A fixed bridge provides a secure and aesthetically pleasing replacement for the visible portion of your tooth. Unlike a dental implant, this restoration does not provide an artificial tooth root.
However, fixed bridges provide several benefits:
- They are quicker and often cheaper than dental implants
- Because they are permanent, they never need to be taken out
- They prohibit other teeth from shifting or loosening, which prevents jaw problems
- Dental bridges feel like and look like your natural teeth
Dental implants
A dental implant is a titanium metal screw that is inserted into your jaw bone in the void created by a missing tooth. After the implant is fastened into your bone, it will act as an artificial root from which a restoration such as a porcelain crown can be attached. An implant can also be used to better secure dentures or partial dentures.
Some benefits of dental implants include:
- Restored chewing function, allowing you to enjoy foods that were too difficult to eat
- No more irritated and painful gums
- Renewed sense of confidence that your replacement teeth will not shift or loosen
- They look, feel and function like your natural teeth
- Eliminate the need for adhesives and denture clasps
- No more need for gooey adhesives
- Improved speech by eliminating or reducing the "fullness" of full or partial dentures
- Ability to replace missing teeth with the look and feel of natural teeth without “shaving down” your adjacent, healthy teeth
- Assist in the prevention of jaw bone loss and shrinkage that can lead to a misaligned bite
It is important to note that not everyone is a candidate for a dental implant. In order to place this screw, you must have sufficient bone with the ability to hold the implant securely in place. Additionally, the roots of your adjacent teeth must not be in the way of where you implant must be inserted. If you do not qualify initially for a dental implant, a bone graft can be done increase your amount of bone mass. Orthodontics can also be used to move your teeth and any impeding roots.
Prone to grinding?
While a dental implant is the only way to replace a missing tooth without altering your adjacent natural teeth, this solution is not ideal if you are prone to teeth grinding. This additional force placed on the implant can cause it to fail over time.
I hit my nasal bridge and now my bone is all swollen and i have a bump there, but its not broken.?
Will the bump eventually go away?
Are you sure its not broken? I got punched in the cheek bone once and it was swollen like crazy and it turned out the reason it was swelling was because it was broken. It may be worth seeing a doctor about.

Four Ways To Learn Guitar
With the increasing popularity of rock music during the last few decades, playing the guitar has become very appealing for many people. While there are many teenagers out there who dream of becoming rock superstars, there are also many people that want to learn how to play the guitar just for the sake of it. However, many of them don't find the best way to learn guitar and after a few unsuccessful attempts, they finally give up.
Different people have different learning needs. In addition, we also have different resources, different jobs, different errands to run and different schedules. If you're not at the level you want, maybe it's because you haven't found the best way to learn guitar yet. There are several ways to learn how to play the guitar. Listed below are only a few of them.
Theory Books
There are thousands of theory books on the market that teach you how to play the guitar. Some of them are even very good and can provide you with all the information you need. Books are an inexpensive and comfortable strategy to learn how to play the guitar. Unfortunately, experience shows that for many of us they just don't work. However, if you are a very patient person, a theory book might be the best way to learn guitar.
Video Lessons
Video guitar lessons are available on DVDs and video tapes in almost any music store, as well as on virtual shops. In addition, there are also some video lessons available online. Some of them are even free. Video lessons are more dynamic and have a better chance of keeping you focused. They have the advantage of allowing you to practice at home whenever you find the time to do it. However, the inconvenience is that you can't benefit from the personalized attention and useful feedback a teacher could provide.
Private Lessons
If you are willing to dedicate a lot of time as well as some money to this, private lessons are definitely the best way to learn guitar. A good teacher can design a customized teaching program to suit your learning style and provide you with individualized attention and positive feedback to get you motivated. In addition, he/she can also spot and correct your mistakes very fast.
Learning by Ear
Learning the guitar by ear can be very fun, especially if you have some sort of musical bone in your body, and that bone is humming with lots of vibration, you might find that this is the best way to learn guitar for you. With the modern slowing down technology, it is much easier now than it used to be for our parents' generation.
You should always keep in mind that playing the guitar should be fun. If you find it difficult or stressing, your learning strategy might have a lot to do with it. Sometimes you need to try several learning methods before finding the one that works best for you. However, if you really want to play the guitar like a pro and have enough time and money, taking up private lessons is probably the best way to go.
How do I pad my acoustic guitar case?
It's a standard case that's all bare bones and doesn't do much for protecting my guitar. I want a cheap way, home remedies or just the kind of foam/padding... yes I know that foam can hurt the finish and make the guitar smell funny so try to make sure it's something that doesn't do either. thnx
Well depending on how much traveling you do, you could simply put your guitar in an old sweater and drop it in. I recently bought an Ibanez artcore semi hollow body. I couldn't afford the case at the time, so I wrapped it in a sweater and used my acoustic case. Just make sure that you have enough room in the case after. You don't want to put too much stress on the neck.

How To Fix Acoustic Guitar Buzz
There are many bits on an acoustic guitar that can rattle against each other to make a buzzing noise. Most can be easily fixed once you become aware of them but tracking that guitar buzz down can be a problem if you don't know where to look.
The first place to look for the cause of buzzing guitar is the guitar player. If you are not pressing down on the strings with the correct amount of pressure, the strings will buzz or sound muffled. This might not be entirely your fault if the guitar's action is too low. If the strings are too close to the frets you will get a buzz that no amount of pressure on the strings will fix.
To fix low action on an acoustic guitar is a matter of going to a guitar store and getting a bridge bone that will lift the strings higher. If the notches in the guitar nut are too deep this will also cause buzzing but that is the least likely cause unless someone deliberately cut the notches deeper. If the slots in the nut are too wide, this will also cause a buzz. A quick fix for low action is a match stick slipped under the bridge bone. If you find the guitar too hard to play now, it's because you have made the action too high.
If the guitar is old, you may have frets that are too worn. This will make the strings buzz against the higher frets. All the frets on the guitar need to be the same height.
If you are using strings that have balls on the ends, check that the balls are tight up against the bridge. If you find one that is not, unwind the string and reseat the ball so it is snug. The loose ends of nylon strings can also buzz against the bridge so if you have a classical style guitar, check the ends of the strings lying against the bridge.
The machine heads - the tuners at the top of the neck - can become loose with age, rattle around. It is probably best to not get involved in repairing them. Just buy a new set.
If you have checked all these parts without identifying the cause of the buzz, take your guitar to a luthier or a local guitar dealer to get it checked out. Sometimes there can be loose parts on an acoustic guitar that are not readily accessible that might need some guitar surgery to fix.
Why do my wrists hurt when I move them or hold things like a game controller or guitar?
I have been experiencing these sharp pains that seem to happen alot in my wrists. It started about 2 months ago when I was playing xbox live for a few days. It feels like a hairline fracture on the outside part of the bone. No matter what i do the pain doesn't go away.
I really need help because I am a bassist in a band and I don't want to let them down.
I wonder if it feels like a hairline fracture in both wrists. The reason I ask is if it's in both wrists it does sound like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which does progress unless you do something to intervene. You can purchase wrist supports to use while you're in the house and even while you sleep. They will keep your wrists in the correct position. (Purchase the kind that have a support built into the elastic. Mine have metal strips underneath.) If you wear them while you play guitar, sleep and play games at home, then when you play in the band you won't have to wear them unless you want to.

Buffalo Meat is Actually Good for You
Buffalo meat I sure didn't know much about it until I spoke with Dan Marino of Jackson Hole Buffalo Meat Co for help visit www.bread-bakers-assistant.com. I had the opportunity to pick his brain about buffalo meat, how it compares to beef and ask about taste. I think you will find his responses both surprising and interesting.
I'm calling buffalo the "real American meat" because it was the primary meat source too many of the Plains Indians until millions of the buffalo were slaughtered back in the late 1800's and they nearly became extinct. Now they are being farm raised on private ranches and the numbers are back up to about one-quarter of a million.
Why Buffalo Over Beef?-
According to Dan Marino, buffalo meat tastes better than beef. He says the flavor is similar but buffalo has a "lighter, sweeter flavor" and "doesn't leave a greasy feel in your mouth.” He also reveals buffalo has a "much livelier flavor" but isn't "gamy"
Sounds good to me but I can't vouch for this because I've never had a buffalo filet mignon so I am making it my goal to try them side by side and see what my taste buds decide.
Another interesting fact he makes about buffalo is the health benefits that come with it. Not only does it have 70% to 90% less fat compared to beef, on average it has 50% less cholesterol. And on top of that, it is higher in protein, iron and all the omega and amino acids. Wow, my doctor may be prescribing buffalo pretty soon.
And did you know that because they are naturally resistant to disease and grow faster than domestic animals, they don't need all the antibiotics and growth hormones that are typically given to beef cattle?
So what do they feed a buffalo?
Buffalo steaks Buffalo are raised on open grassland and graze on natural grass. Because they are not fed manufactured feed, there is no current concern about mad cow disease at this time for help visit www.bread-machine-cookbook.com. I was also told that unlike sheep and beef, they don't defecate in their own water source. Now what's wrong with those sheep and cows?
What about inspections and grading?
Just like beef, Dan's buffalo are inspected by both the USDA and the State Department. At this time, there is no official grading system but the National Bison Association is working on it.
Flavor and texture
As I mentioned above, Dan thinks buffalo has more flavor. Since a buffalo and cow have the same muscle groups, their texture and tenderness are very similar to each other. He says, "A filet on a buffalo is every bit as tender as on beef. The main difference is the darker color and sweet flavor."
Are there similar cuts available?
Because of the similar muscle groups, buffalo has the same cuts as beef. There are rib eyes, rib steaks, sirloin, t-bone, porterhouse, strip, filet, brisket, flank, roasts, filets, burgers and the rest of the cuts
How to you cook buffalo meat?
You cook it the same way you cook beef but because of its lower fat content, it will cook faster than beef. You see the fat works as an insulator and slow down the cooking time. The less fat, the faster the meat will cook. So you can grill it, roast it or pan-fry it. Just be careful not to overcook it.
Where can you buy buffalo meat and why is it so expensive?
I've seen buffalo burgers at several supermarkets but nothing in the more expensive cuts. Some grocery stores let you special order it but it takes time and it is very expensive. Your other option is to order it online at places like Jackson Hole Buffalo Meat Co.
The reason for the high cost is basic economics 101, "supply and demand." Right now there is high demand and very limited supply and most of the supply is going to restaurants. Did you know that there are more beef slaughtered in the United States EACH day than buffalo in an ENTIRE year?
Fresh or Frozen?
Dan tells me you can purchase buffalo meat either fresh or frozen. They vacuum pack their buffalo product to give it a longer shelf life. By removing the oxygen from contacting the meat, it will not freezer burn on you. He says the vacuum packed product has a freezer shelf life of about a year. They normally ship it frozen but can ship it fresh if that is important to you.
When I asked Dan what is the one message he would like my readers to get about buffalo, he said, "Buffalo is the healthiest choice anyone can make regarding their meat eating end of their diet. If you are on a restricted diet, it is a red meat you can enjoy and feel good about it because it will not cause the same problems as beef, pork, or any other domestic animal. .. The flavor is fantastic too. Buffalo, it's what America was meant to eat!"
If you have any questions, I'm sure you will find the answers at Jackson Hole Buffalo Meat Co. and if you don't, I'm sure Dan would be happy to answer them for you. You can contact him at his web site.

Bangara Tribe : What is Patli made of?
Hello,
As you read the question, my brother was talking about the Bangara Tribe one evening. He asked me to research and tell him what is the Big bangals that Bangara Women wear in their Arms are made of.
He said its made of Camel's Bones.
Please help me confirm this?
Women put on thick bangles on their arms [PATLI].Their ornaments are made up of silver rings, coins, chain and hair pleat are tied together at the end by CHOTLA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banjara

I found two sources for this and I would say that the Patli are not made of Camel bones...athough I could not find a defination for CHOTLA I seriously doubt that it is Camel bones.
