This cable is not used with high definition television so it will not help you with television sets that include HD. With a good cable and unfaltering connection, an S-video cable will give you a crisper and clearer picture than you may have had without it.
The biggest difference in these cables is the equipment with which they are used. Each cable has a decent review in the area of video, but only HDMI includes audio in its connection. The other cables focus only in the area of video. You would not want to use an S video cable if you have high definition capability, but the other connectors will work well with high definition. Depending on your needs, each of the connectors are good in at least one aspect of your television connections.
