I keep bleaching in cobalt glass bottles?
I started using bleach to disinfect the water and I want to keep a small amount of bleach in pure cobalt. Drip bottle to measure the exact amount easier. I will not store diluted bleach disinfectant only pure Cobalt bottle is being stored in a dark cabinet. But once a day every two days. This will cause a loss of power bleaching is also faster? It must be in opaque bottles at?
It should be OK, the strength decreases as the chlorine gas into undissolved and diffuses away.

Patchwork Heritage Quilt Shows Patriotic Pride through Tradition
Since the days of old when our ancestors were crossing the ocean in order to immigrate to the new world, American quilting tradition has been evolving. Women from every country contributed ideas, patterns and styles that eventually combined into one basic American style of quilting that was totally unique and strikingly attractive. This style came to be known as patchwork.
Before the industrial revolution fabric was prohibitively expensive. Cost was almost always the deciding factor of what style, color, quality of fabrics and pattern would be used in the making of the quilt. All pre industrial revolution homes came equipped with a scrap bag. As fabric was such a precious commodity, every bit was saved. Homes almost never bought fabrics with the sole purpose of quilting in mind. Scraps were always use, hence the creation of the patchwork quilt.
Patchwork quilts reflect our nation's economic and political times. When our country was new and the industrial revolution had yet to take place, quilting patters were haphazard. As our nation grew and prospered, patterns became recognizable. With time patterns grew to become incredibly intricate. Soon, women began making statements through quilting. Red, white and blues appeared in quilts during war time to show patriotic pride.
When westward expansion took place women began creating state quilts. Eventually, quilts began to reflect political preferences, major life events and economic times. When our country unionized and labor laws were enacted, many women showed their support by sewing together red, white and blue patches in incredibly intricate patterns. American flag patterns are popular during times of political strife, low economic times and war.
Today quilting has tapered off as a national pastime for women. While quilting is not as popular as it once was, quilts themselves are more highly valued than ever. Many of us can appreciate the tradition and heritage of the American patchwork quilt. Recently, a new patriotic commemorative quilt was created to help Americans in need. The Patchwork Heritage quilt is part of a buy one, give one program being implemented by the Blanket America charitable organization to provide warm blankets for the needy. To find out more, visit quilt.
The Patchwork Heritage Collection shows patriotic American pride while bringing back old American traditions. Blanket America is implementing a buy one, give one charity, where proceeds from the sale of the Patchwork Heritage quilts buy one new fleece blanket to be donated to charity.

Quilts from Art Auctions
I’ve been traveling throughout California attending art auctions looking for unique quilts. I have had a lot of success. I have found so many quilts that you could tell were filled with thousands of hours of careful planning and stitching.
I was attending at art auction in Orange and found a wonderful quilt. The quilt was from the Civil War era and was made in the design of Blazing Stars. There was a wonderful appliqued red and green swag-like border. The center of the quilt has a feathered heart hand quilted.
The art auction that I went to in San Bruno had a fabulous quilt that was made in the 1860s. The quilt was hand appliqued using cheddar, red and green cotton solid fabrics. The background was white and the border has a meandering flowering vine. It was truly special.
I found a great quilt that was made in 1894 while I was at an art auction in Rancho Cucamonga. The style of the quilt was really fun. It was called a Victorian Crazy Quilt. There was so much elaborate hand embroidery over every seam and within the blocks, it was magnificent.
I was on vacation in Napa and attended an art auction that had several really nice quilts. The one that I won was made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and was completed in the 1870s. I like the design called Ocean Waves. The chain had earth green and chocolate brown triangles that were pieced with exceedingly fine skill and precision. The border and background color was warm, cadmium orange.
The quilt I found at an art auction in Paradise was an 1840's thin, cotton Quaker quilt, which measures 108" x 88" and had 10 stitches per inch. It was a Quaker cotton wedding quilt. The top border, near the pillows, had a blue print and each side and the bottom had wide borders with North Carolina Quilt blocks in each corner. There were two rows of North Carolina Lilies in the center, and one row on each side facing outward.
The quilt made its way into the art auction because someone made the decision to sell some of the great historic heirlooms that were passed down through her family to her. I was very fortunate to acquire this heirloom that had passed through the many generations of Quaker families. Now I own one of the great Pennsylvania Quaker masterpieces.
Log cabin quilts are a design that I have always liked. My grandmother made a quilt using this design for me when I was twelve. I found one made in a similar fashion at an art auction Los Gatos. The quilt was made in the 1870s and was made by Mennonites.
I was lucky to find the art auction, it was difficult to find. The quilt is just fantastic. The light and dark design of this quilt has a red center on one side with two green bars, two cinnamon bars and two blue bars and then two red bars and on the other side of the red square in the center are two yellows, two black and white stripe, two lovely Lancaster blue bars, and two peppermint stripe bars.
There was an art auction in Huntington Beach that advertised quilts and I was really happy with the pieces that I found there. The quilt that I bought had a pictorial motif, like an album quilt, with a lot of interesting designs. Each block was quite different and special.

7 Deadly Dangers to Children During the Holidays
Family gatherings, holiday dinners, and special traditions are suppose to be the most wonderful times of the year, especially for children. Unfortunately, for emergency room doctors it is also one of the busiest times of the year. Thus, it is vitally important that you take time to read the information below to learn how to protect your little ones from some common holiday dangers. Here are my 7 Deadly Dangers to Children During the Holidays:
(1) Recalled Toys. Recalls make holiday toy shopping quite difficult. In addition to toys that have been recalled by the United State Consumer Product Safety Commission, you should avoid purchasing cheap jewelry, toys with any detachable magnets, and toys that contain very small pieces. To be safe, it is always best to purchase toys that are made in the United States to ensure product safety and accountability.
(2) Christmas Trees. Keep your holiday tree secured in a sturdy stand so it does not tip over and seriously injure a child. Additionally, tree ornaments, light bulbs, icicles, and tinsel are potential choking hazards for small children because they may block the airway. Further, the needles of holiday trees can cause painful cuts in the mouth and throat of a child who swallows them. Finally, angel hair, which is made from finely spun glass, and ornament hangers may cause cuts, skin irritation, or eye damage if touched or swallowed by children.
(3) Poisoning. Such common holiday plants used for decorating can cause deadly poisoning to young children. These plants include the mistletoe, holly, poinsettias, and Jerusalem cherry plants. Additionally, children can be poisoned by bubble lights which contain methylene chloride. Further, many children become severely ill from alcohol poisoning and food poisoning during the holidays.
(4) Kitchens. Since most holiday gatherings involve cooking, there are a lot of opportunities for burns. Thus, you should keep pot handles turned away from the front of the stove and always keep the over door closed. To prevent these type of accidents, keep your children out of the kitchen or watch them closely while you bake or cook.
(5) Outdoors. There is an increased risk of car accidents and injuries to children during the holiday season. Parents can prevent many injuries by buckling up their children and attempt to avoid driving on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, since there is a higher incidence of drunk driving accidents on these days. Finally, if you live in or will travel to a cold weather climate, sledding accidents can cause children very serious injuries. Thus, children should be supervised by responsible adults at all times.
(6) Choking/Swallowing. Tree ornaments, light bulbs, icicles, tinsel, and small toys are potential choking hazards for small children because they may block the airway. It is important to keep any of these dangerous items out of the reach of young children.
(7) Fires. Keep your holiday tree secured in a sturdy stand so it does not tip over and possible cause a fire. Also, it is important to keep your tree away from any heating sources or electrical outlets and always remember to unplug all lights, both indoor and outdoor, before you go to bed. Finally, most fires are usually caused from candles so try to avoid using candles at all means. However, if you decide to use a candle you should never leave a room with a lit candle as it only takes one minute for a spark from a candle to start a fire.
