Which type of strings rust faster!?
I can't afford buying elixir strings (nanoweb) for my bass and guitar so i need help...
I plan on buying Ernie Ball strings only!! but they have stainless steel and nickel so i wanna know which doesn't rust fast.
My fingers sweat like crazy when playing (play an average of 1~2 hours in a gig non-stop) and thats the only thing that might cause the rusting but all the other stuff like drying with dry cloth which i also do. The string starts to rust in 6 months with bass (bassist most of the time) and guitar like 7~8months.
Why are your strings rusting? I've used probably every string out there and never once had them rust. If even the tiniest spot of rust were to appear I'd throw the whole set away.
Nickel does not rust, and is also one of the major alloys of stainless steel so it's not the string. Buy either. However, you need to start wiping down your strings EVERY TIME you play (with a dry cloth), keep your guitar out of moisture laden areas, and change strings often.
