60 watt speakers 100 head?
i need a tube head, and im looking at buying a used carvin x100b 100watt head. i have a fender bandmaster 2x12 cab with two 60watt @8ohm each speakers. will this be ok for my cab? or do i have to have a head that is less than or equal to 60w?
also, what section would questions about guitar and amplifiers go in? i cant find an appropriate section.
Just divide the total wattage of the amp by the number of speakers.
100W @ 8ohm divided by 2 speakers equals 50W to each speaker @ 8ohms.
If your speakers are rated for 60W each then you're fine. If they were 30W speakers you would blow them out. They need to be rated at or above the wattage they are being driven at, so you're safe.
