It will affect the tone. Rosewood will give a warmer tone and the ebony a bit brighter. It all depends on the sound you like. Try them both out and see!

What is the best way to enhance signal pickup from wireless router?
My girlfriend has a laptop that she tries to pickup signal from other houses around her neighborhood. The problem is that the signal is very low, and comes and goes while using it. Is there anything she can do to enhance the ability of her internal wireless card to pickup more signal? Thanks!
Note: the signal is from a neighbor who is a family friend. She has permission from the family to use the bandwidth.
Since they allow her to use it, perhaps they could also be willing to help her. Put foil behind the base antenna like a satelitte dish pointing toward your house. Of course, this may degrade signal stregnth on the other side of the foil.

Why do some people remove their pickup covers?
Why do some people prefer to remove their pickup cover(usually on the bridge pickup)? Does it affect the tone or sound at all?
Most, if not all pickup covers are made from "non-ferrous" (non-magnetic) metal, which means they will NOT adversely affect your magnetic pickup's sound.
Unless you REALLY wanna take em off, leave em on.
They are there to protect.
In the '70's guys were taking em off and it became a fad.
The pickup companies copied the look, but I really don't know any good reasons to take them off?

Fender Stratocaster Parts?
Hey everyone,
I bought a Mexican Strat SSH style.
I am looking for a few upgrades for it
any suggestion
I should mention that I like to play mostly metal. old and new, but I am currently dabbling in blues
Switch out the pick ups, if your into a metal sound, then the Samarium colbalt noiseless (SCN)pickups might be for you. They are used in the American stratocasters. However i've never seen them in a SSH set... Maybe an EMG humbucker in the bridge would be good for metal.
As for blues; the vintage noiseless pickups are best.
Shaller locking tuners, Bridge upgrades.. hardware upgrades in general are all small things you can do to make it better.
