Electric==>accoustic?
Made the kerlassic mistake of starting out with electric, what's done is done. After three years of going pretty much nowhere, blues came back and hit me in the face and made me realise how much I need the accoustic. Anyone got any advice to make the switch, any finger muscling exercises, effective ways of starting out on the accoustic (other than theory)?
Thanks
Don't lose too much sleep about this whole thing, i have been playing and teaching on both for years and have a degree in jazz studies on guitar and I can tell you they are almost identical. The strings on an acoustic are typically a little heavier and a little higher off the neck, but it sort of feels like playing an electric with a really slow neck. Make the change, play what you normally play on your new acoustic and I would be shocked if you don't feel confident on it by the end of the month.

What kind of strings should I put on my Tele style electric guitar to give it a nice jazz tone?
It's a G&L ASAT Special Tribute Series guitar, practically a Tele. Well all I'm playing now is jazz on it so I'm wondering what strings to use to give it a great jazz tone, not a jazz guitar at all though. I've always has about 9s on it, fine for bending but horrible for jazz. I switched to some 11s, jazziest ones my local shop had and they're better once I got used to them but still not very good. They feel too loose and weak still now I'm used to them, they're also a bit unbalanced I swear the b came from a lighter set. So what gauge should I go to? Also it felt really bad putting the heavier set on the little skinny electric, how safe is it to put on even heavier ones? Thanks.
It should be alright to use fat strings, after all, the new thin strings have only been around for quite a short time.
I'd go really fat with the strings, with a wound 3rd string, that should give you a real vintage pre-war sound.

Is there a way to play an acoustic instrument such as a banjo and have the notes recorded by a computer?
My uncle is looking for a way to play his banjo while the computer automatically records the notes. Is there software that can do this without the use of a piano keyboard?
Yes, we went to a music competition and a guy who played by ear had bought a computer program to record his notes. His instructor said the student had played by ear and this competition had required the sheet music so he had played the instrument and the computer had recorded it and printed out the music.
This may not be exactly what you need, but check this out.

Where can I get vintage Gretsch Guitar Parts?
I am looking for very specific parts for my gretsch. I am looking for everything except pots and switches for a 1967 Gretsch Rally. I need them to be %100 original and from 1967 and off of a rally guitar or made for a rally guitar. Does anyone know any websites I could use to find these?
From what I can see (and I might of course be wrong), http://gretschguitars.com don't carry vintage parts for Gretsch guitars.
However, if you enter the search term "vintage Gretsch guitar parts" (this exact phrase) into Google, you will get a number of specialized dealers which may help you out. http://www.guitar-parts.com is one such place.
Also try eBay.com (the USA site) - almost everything and anything will eventually show up there. You can set up eBay search so that they notify you by email when an item arrives. Only ever deal with reputable sellers with a great feedback score.
