Is there a way to play an acoustic instrument such as a banjo and have the notes recorded by a computer?
My uncle is looking for a way to play his banjo while the computer automatically records the notes. Is there software that can do this without the use of a piano keyboard?
Yes, we went to a music competition and a guy who played by ear had bought a computer program to record his notes. His instructor said the student had played by ear and this competition had required the sheet music so he had played the instrument and the computer had recorded it and printed out the music.

How many use metal bass player selected or not.
IM starting to play bass well, and I want to decide whether to learn to use your finger to pull or pick up. i plan on playing hard. Hardcore and metal music may be,. (Such as killing, a7x, atreyu slipknot, to name a few). Finger Plucking not produce a better sound for metal music? Or you can fit a good job or not. (A very real way to play bass in a select metal heeavy? Or most of their fingers?).
Bass heavy metal is mainly used to select a location. It produces thick, deep voice. Fingerprint will allow a more relaxed sound. backround more effective deep background for the guitars to create.

Anyone suggest a decent Vintage Sunburst color electro acoustic guitar?
I really would like an electro-acoustic guitar, around 300 to 500 dollars. But I want something in the way of vintage sunburst, but all I could find in the style I liked was a John Lennon one which I didn't really care for. Any suggestions?
well it all depends on the brand you choose. Brands like gibson,martin, and taylor sell for thousands of dollars. Even though people say epiphone does not have good quality they do not know what they are talking about. ephiphone (gibsons lower brand) makes great quality guitars, exspecially acoustics. most sell for about 300$ but i picked up the pr-150 at guitar center for 120$. it is not an acoustic-electric but still an amazing guitar. the qaulity and construction is great. ive seen 500$ guitars with worse quality and sound. if you really want an acoustic electric epiphone also has them. But you could also save money by getting an acoustic pickup. How much thicker does the neck get on a 5 string bass relative to a 4 string?
Hi, I play bass, 4 string, But I'm thinking of going up to a 5 string, but my question obviously, is how much harder it would be to get my hands around the frets and the neck.
can someone tell me how much thicker a 5 string neck is than a 4 string?

Depends on the bass, man. Even on a 4 string it varies a lot.
The Ibanez SR Series, for example, has the best neck on a bass IMO. The five string doesn't get much bigger. Still easily playable. To me, a 5 string SR is more playable than a Fender or Schecter (which are beautiful) 4 string.

are they good for rock?
This is a common misconception, certain types of music do not require certain strings.
Its tuning, the lower you tune, the heavier your strings should be.
Those 10's should be very good for rock, because rock is usually standard, but again, it all depends on your tuning.
