Electric==>accoustic?
Made the kerlassic mistake of starting out with electric, what's done is done. After three years of going pretty much nowhere, blues came back and hit me in the face and made me realise how much I need the accoustic. Anyone got any advice to make the switch, any finger muscling exercises, effective ways of starting out on the accoustic (other than theory)?

Don't lose too much sleep about this whole thing, i have been playing and teaching on both for years and have a degree in jazz studies on guitar and I can tell you they are almost identical. The strings on an acoustic are typically a little heavier and a little higher off the neck, but it sort of feels like playing an electric with a really slow neck. Make the change, play what you normally play on your new acoustic and I would be shocked if you don't feel confident on it by the end of the month.

Can a generic 30W guitar amp take a stereo input lead?
Just bought a cheap generic 30W amp for my Theremin. I'm at a store where they're selling stereo guitar leads cheaper than mono ones. Will the stereo lead work with this kind of amp?
Generally yes, sometimes it cannot read one of the channels, but since you are coming from a mono output anyway it should not matter.

which instrument goes well with bass guitar and percussion?
i have to do a 16 bar melody for an assessment and im stuck finding a solo instrument. i also have to use a bass guitar and any percussion instrument.. any idea with what i can use?
I take it this is for a music theory assignment? Odd that you "have" to use bass guitar, i guess your professor is trying to make some sort of point. I'd pick any wind instrument, trumpet is good. And I'd use bass guitar, drum set and guitar, if you're professor will let you use standard "jazz comp" notation for the guitar and drum set parts.
Now, if you're not allowed to add a rhythm instrument, I'd use piano with melody in the right hand and accompaniment in the left. Although, a bluesy thing with just bass, snare and trumpet would work.
Also, ask a percussion major about notation for any odd percussion instruments you might write for, different accents can mean different things.

If not, which brand acoustic guitar is best for a beginner?
It's your basic plywood top acoustic - better than most. For a little more money you can get a SOLID wood top guitar that you'll have for 50 years. The Washburn D10S is $260 with a hard case at musiciansfriend.com and other places. The Yamaha FG700S is $200 (no case). Look for an "S" in the model number.

any guitar players know the easiest way to memorize the notes on the fretboard?
im having a tuff time trying to memorize all the notes on the scale, im too used to seeing each fret as a number instead of wha it accually is.
This is a common problem for Tab people. (I use tab, but I also read sheet) One thing that will help you is to equate the note with the corresponding fret number. So, just to give you an example, I'll give you the first twelve frets of the low E.
E F F# G G# A A# B C C# D D# E or for flats,
E F Gb G Ab A Bb B C Db D Eb E and in tab:
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12. Learn the rest of the strings, and go from there. Also, once you have down, say the note out loud, or in yr. head, whatever, so you start associating it. So, if you have a note or chord with its root ion the 5th fret, per se, then start thinking "A" or "D" or whichever it is. As far as scales go, it's beneficial to memorize both the scale pattern and tone relationships as well as the frets or what have you. Scales a bit heavier in the theory than I think you're looking for, but I hope this will help you out.
