Bridge or Implant? Which is Right for Me?
There are a variety of cosmetic dentistry options available today that can be used to replace missing teeth, including a dental bridge or dental implant. The decision to use one instead of another depends on various factors. Consider that one treatment option may be right for one person and wrong for the next person with the same condition.
In general, if you are missing a single tooth, a dental implant is usually your best option. If the teeth on both sides of your missing tooth need crowns, a bridge is the most sensible choice.
Dental bridges
When you have lost one or multiple teeth and have a tooth on both sides of the open space, replacement teeth can be attached or “bridged” to two crowns placed on the two adjacent teeth. This type of bridge is called a fixed bridge.
A bridge is the traditional method for replacing a missing tooth. It is important to keep in mind that a bridge must attach to one or two adjacent crowns. To hold the crowns, these teeth must be prepared, or ground down, so that the crowns can fit on top of them.
A fixed bridge provides a secure and aesthetically pleasing replacement for the visible portion of your tooth. Unlike a dental implant, this restoration does not provide an artificial tooth root.
However, fixed bridges provide several benefits:
- They are quicker and often cheaper than dental implants
- Because they are permanent, they never need to be taken out
- They prohibit other teeth from shifting or loosening, which prevents jaw problems
- Dental bridges feel like and look like your natural teeth
Dental implants
A dental implant is a titanium metal screw that is inserted into your jaw bone in the void created by a missing tooth. After the implant is fastened into your bone, it will act as an artificial root from which a restoration such as a porcelain crown can be attached. An implant can also be used to better secure dentures or partial dentures.
Some benefits of dental implants include:
- Restored chewing function, allowing you to enjoy foods that were too difficult to eat
- No more irritated and painful gums
- Renewed sense of confidence that your replacement teeth will not shift or loosen
- They look, feel and function like your natural teeth
- Eliminate the need for adhesives and denture clasps
- No more need for gooey adhesives
- Improved speech by eliminating or reducing the "fullness" of full or partial dentures
- Ability to replace missing teeth with the look and feel of natural teeth without “shaving down” your adjacent, healthy teeth
- Assist in the prevention of jaw bone loss and shrinkage that can lead to a misaligned bite
It is important to note that not everyone is a candidate for a dental implant. In order to place this screw, you must have sufficient bone with the ability to hold the implant securely in place. Additionally, the roots of your adjacent teeth must not be in the way of where you implant must be inserted. If you do not qualify initially for a dental implant, a bone graft can be done increase your amount of bone mass. Orthodontics can also be used to move your teeth and any impeding roots.
Prone to grinding?
While a dental implant is the only way to replace a missing tooth without altering your adjacent natural teeth, this solution is not ideal if you are prone to teeth grinding. This additional force placed on the implant can cause it to fail over time.
I hit my nasal bridge and now my bone is all swollen and i have a bump there, but its not broken.?

Are you sure its not broken? I got punched in the cheek bone once and it was swollen like crazy and it turned out the reason it was swelling was because it was broken. It may be worth seeing a doctor about.

Buying an Acoustic Guitar and the Importance of the Neck Angle
It doesn’t really matter the price range that you have in mind. Years back a low cost guitar would be a nightmare to play, and for a beginner it was worse, I had one for my first guitar. These days with advanced machining and mass production techniques there are a large number of guitar manufacturers turning out quite good guitars at low cost.
Regardless of the price if you take any two guitars of the same make and model, even with consecutive production numbers it’s quite likely that one will be easier to play than the other.
How well a guitar plays is determined by the action.The action on a guitar is the distance between the underside of the strings and the frets. The frets are the thin metal strips that lie across the neck. The maximum distance is found in the area where the neck and body join. If the distance is greater than say 3mm then it will be harder to play the guitar up the neck than it should be and for a beginner it can totally discouraging. Keep in mind that that a small difference can mean a lot.
A 4mm gap is a big step up from 3mm.
There are four things that influence the action.
1. The Saddle Height
2. The Nut Height
3. The Truss Rod Adjustment
4. The Neck Angle
The first three can be adjusted. If the neck angle is bad then adjusting the other three will bring about little change to the action. Picture a guitar lying level on its back and you place a straight edge along neck and extending down to touch the bridge. The bridge is the piece of timber attached to the body of the guitar that has the strings attached to it, and the saddle is the (usually) white plastic strip that sits in the bridge and has the strings running across it. When the neck angle is good then the neck and the top of the bridge will be on the same line. When the angle is bad then the straight edge will point to a spot closer to where the bridge joins the body and is a really bad case it would touch the body of the guitar first.
Now we cannot carry out this test in a music store, however what we can do is sight down the neck and it’s fairly easy to see where the line of the neck points to, it should be in line with the top of the bridge.
This is all probably a lot to absorb in one go, the important thing is to be aware of the action and any good guitar salesperson should know all this and be able to point them out to you so you can make the best choice so you have a guitar that is easy to play.
Lastly do not buy a guitar because you like the color of it, buy the guitar that sounds good and plays well.

On a guitar saddle, what is the differance between compensated and not compensated?
I am talking about an acoustic guitar. The saddle is the plastic part in the bridge.
The "not compensated" saddle you're speaking of is referred to as a "standard saddle". If you've ever noticed, acoustics are almost never completely intonated. The fact that the saddle can only be staggard to the right point so much when the standard was developed caused this problem. The compensated saddle eliminates this. It's much like the adjustable saddles on a Fender Stratocaster or a Gibson Les Paul. Just not adjustable. If you've ever listened to an acoustic guitar play along with a piano in melody, they're not the same pitch. This is due to the intonation being off on the acoustic. The Compensated saddle is one way to correct the problem, the other is a compensated nut, which does the same thing, just on the other end. I hope this helps.

How To Learn Guitar Faster
In theory, you should just plug your guitar into one of those new electronic guitar tuners and the job is done ... How To Learn Guitar Fasterthe problem is everyone hears musical pitch slightly differently ... what might sound good to one player may sound incorrect to the next player.
The truth is you have to make subtle changes in the pitch for a guitar to play in a a variety of keys. Take particular notice next time you are at a concert or jam session, watch the experienced guitar players ... if a guitar is handed from one player to another notice how the second guitar player will make tiny adjustments in the intonation of the guitar to accommodate his or her listening preferences.
Natural harmonics are beautiful bell-like tones that skillful guitarists use in a variety of ways to add variety and colour to the musical performances.
How to play natural harmonics: simply do the opposite to what you would do to play a normal fretted note.
(a) place your finger above the fret.
Play EXISTING riffs and patterns with speed and accuracy click here
(b) don't press the string down to the fret, just rest your finger lightly above the centre of the fret.
(c) after you have picked the string remove your finger from the string and the harmonic will ring.
Practice these natural harmonics on the twelfth fret of the guitar.
The names of the natural harmonics produced at the twelfth fret are as follows:
6th string = E, 5th string = A, 4th string = D, third string = G, second string = B, first string = E.
Notice how these natural harmonics share exactly the same letter
names as the fretted notes at the twelfth fret.
Checking your string intonation: string intonation is the ability for your string to produce the correct pitch when fretted.
The important point here is... just because a string has been tuned to the correct pitch via an electronic tuner does not mean that the string will produce the correct pitch for every note when played over the entire length of the string.
Three factors determine the strings ability to play the correct pitch:
(a) string wear on the underside of the string due to metal to metal contact with the fret alters the diameter of the string, causing irregular vibrations and incorrect pitch.
(b) similarly, string corrosion caused by the chemical make of up of the players perspiration, will created irregular string diameter.
(c) incorrect bridge saddle adjustment.
Before setting your string intonation make certain your strings are in good condition and if necessary change them. It's best to set the intonation after the new strings have "settled in", so it's a good idea to play the new strings to get rid of most of the string slippage before to do any intonation work.
How to set your intonation:
Step 1. using your electronic tuner, tune your open string to the correct pitch.
Step 2. compare the natural harmonic on the twelfth fret with the normal fretted note at the twelfth fret ... both these notes should register the same pitch on your electronic tuner if your string intonation is set correctly.
Step 3. if your fretted note at the twelfth fret is flat when compared to the harmonic at the twelfth fret, shorten the string length by moving the bridge saddle closer to the head stock of the guitar. You adjust the bridge saddle by using a small screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw at the back of the bridge saddle.
Step 4. if your fretted note at the twelfth fret is sharp when compared to the harmonic at the twelfth fret, lengthen the string by moving the bridge saddle further away from the head stock of the guitar.
Step 5. repeat steps 1 to 4 for each string.
The best way to make sure your guitar is in tune is to use a variety of tune methods, in fact, your guitar will need to be slightly out of tune in all keys for it to sound good.
Tuning your guitar with natural harmonics is excellent way to cross check your tuning with the electronic tuner, it's also a great way to improve your ear.

Do I need any tools to adjust an electric guitar's action if it has a fully adjustable bridge?
Does fully adjustable mean that I can lower the action without having to take it to a guitar shop and have them sand down the bridge or saddle? Or is that only needed for acoustic guitars?
if you have an adjustable bridge, then you probably have a Floyd Rose tremolo. If the guitar is yours, there was probably a kit that went with the guitar that contains the tools you need to adjust the bridge. The kit would contain L screwdrivers so you can adjust manually each string saddle and the bridge as a whole. Be careful though, and make sure you know what you're doing before moving anything. Otherwise, take it to a guitar shop and have it adjusted. Observe the technician, so you won't have to go back.

Motorcycle Customization Tips
When you purchase a motorcycle, chances are you are going to get the basic product with no additional customization unless you buy from a private seller who has already decked out their motorcycle with lots of extras. There are hundreds of items that can be purchased to customize your ride just the way you like it. The sky is the limit when it comes to motorcycle customization, you just have to pick and choose what you want based on your preferences and your budget.
The front fender of your motorcycle can be customized in a number of different ways. It can be custom painted to look the way you want. You can also purchase chrome trim to give it a little extra chrome flash. The front rims can also be customized with chrome trim to match the front fender.
The headlights are one of the more important pieces of equipment on your motorcycle. Nobody has ever said less light is better, so one option you have is adding more light units to your headlight system. Headlight mount kits can be purchased for just about any motorcycle and can be easily attached to your motorcycle to add an extra light on either side of your original headlight. This gives you twice the seeing power at night, and a little extra notice ability during the day which increases your safety level.
When it comes to the engine there are a number of possibilities for customization. You can purchase chrome rivets, caps, and covers for just about any part of the engine that you can see. Since custom exhaust systems are typically lighter and tuned better than the stock factory exhaust systems that are installed, they often contribute to better gas mileage and fuel efficiency.
There are a number of different options available for the back end of the motorcycle. If you’re looking to add luggage space, you can install saddle bags of any size to fit your needs. Saddlebags can be purchased in leather or in hard case, often fiberglass or plastic, to give it a more structured feel. The hard saddlebags can be painted if you’ve got a certain color in mind. You can also install a luggage rack on the back to provide more storage space if that is what you need.
When it comes to customizing your motorcycle there are hundreds of possibilities and if you have the resources to do so, you can customize just about every external part you can find to give your motorcycle that custom look and feel.

All Fender guitars are well-made. Many musicians use Fender guitars. What makes them easy to play is the strings are close to the neck (and frets). Beginners usually have a hard time pressing the strings to the fret hard enough to make the right notes on each string. Because they are closer, it is a little easier to play and learn on.
