Washburn WI14 - Your opinion about it?
WI14 is the cheapest of the Idol series, mine is made in China, boght it for the equivalent of 220 dollars.
If any of you has one, would you like to share your impressions about it?
I am a begginer, at a pretty late age (20+), i'm getting started to be able to reproduce pretty well various intros from artists like Guns'n'Roses, Black Sabbath, Limp Bizkit, Crematory, Nirvana... using SW processor for distorsions and other effects. I like its sound, sustain and playability, but what should i expect to not be able to get fom it ?
Thank You!
Washburn WI14 is an electric guitar, low end, but quite appreciated for its affordable quality .

Mine is blue
Leo, what you get from it is entirely dependent upon your skill level. Washburn makes a damned good guitar, period. A friend of mine and a fellow gigging guitarist owns a music store. One night before we were going to leave for some local jams, he couldn't get to his regular Baby, and decided to pick up something from the risers on display. You guessed it - he grabbed a Washburn very similar to yours and loved it. Of course, he sets up all the guitars before putting them out on the floor, and that makes a world of difference. The point here, though, is that you can look at guitars costing many times more, but many still have the basswood body, the maple bolt-on neck, and so forth. If you have the confidence that you have a good guitar at a great price, your playing may improve immediately. Go ahead, push the envelope!

Learn And Master Bass Guitar Review: Is This Bass Training Course A Gem Or A Dud?
The Learn and Master Bass Guitar Lesson DVDs are the most recent attempt by the folks at Learning Legacy Systems to produce yet another award winning guitar course. This all-video instructional program is designed to utilize a world-class bassist to teach someone with little or no experience how to play the bass in a logical, comprehensive, step-by-step way.
About The Instructor:
According the publisher, Tony Marvelli is a professional bassist and instructor. He has played bass for Mark Schultz, gospel singer Andre Couch, American Idol Finalist Mandisa, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra and many others. Mr. Marvelli comes from a diverse musical background that includes Rock, Jazz, Folk, Big Band Swing as well as old-school R&B.
The Physical Parts of The Bass Guitar Course Include:
- 3 DVDs of over 4 hours of instruction
- Downloadable Lessons support book
- Play along Jam-Tracks for learning to play with a band
- Online support for asking questions of the instructor and other bass students
The Lessons Include:
- The fundamental step-by-step basics for getting started
- Learning to read music
- Base line patterns
- Music theory
- Chords
- Scales including the pentatonic and blues scales
- Chord progressions
- Learning to play the blues
- Techniques: fast shuffles, palm muting, slow 12/8 bass, bends, pull-offs, hammer-ons, slide playing
The Negatives
This is not so much a negative as it is a tip for students that wish to view the DVDs on a laptop computer. Many laptop speakers are not designed to reproduce the sounds of the lowest of the base notes. This can result in either a garbled sound or no sound. Some of the simple solutions include; plugging a set of headphones or external speakers into the computer or playing the lessons on a DVD player connected to a standard television set.
The Positives
- This is a full video format and not just occasional short video snippets.
- The Instructor, Tony Marvelli is a full time professional bassist and teacher.
- The instructor has a distinct and easy to understand style of speaking.
- The Legacy Learning Systems Company has never produced a bad product. Every one of their training courses that I have reviewed has been well organized with top notch instructors.
- The video is well produced with clear details.
Support and Guarantee: An Online Support Community is available to each student. A 60 Day Money Back Guarantee is standard on all purchases from Legacy Learning Systems.
The Bottom Line
At this point in time the Learn and Master Bass Guitar Lesson DVDs has received my first place rating for primarily three reasons. The first reason is based on their reputation for producing superior instructional programs time after time.
The second reason is that this course is the only one that I have encountered so far where the format is all-video and not just an eBook with short little video enhancements. The difference is a huge benefit to any student.
The third and final reason is that the instructor, Tony Marvelli, is a much more successful and experienced bassist than is offered in any other bass guitar course I have seen to date.
It is important to note that this is a pre-release review and not all of the information is yet available about this program. As it becomes available I will update this review. However, I have no hesitation in recommending the Learn And Master Bass Guitar Lesson DVDs.

Make Money With Your Classic Car, Old Truck or Hot Rod
Classic Trucks in the movies and starring in TV Commercials!
Owners of old trucks would never deny permission for somebody to take a picture of their vehicle. Do you want to take a picture of my truck? Go ahead. Next time don't even ask!
Let's suppose somebody came up to you and asked for permission to take a picture of your classic truck to publish in a magazine or a website. Would you refuse? Of course not. You're proud of your truck and you want the whole world to see it.
But there are people who don't want to have their classic trucks photographed or filmed. They spend a lot of time fixing their trucks, they go to car shows to show off what they have and yet they refuse to have their trucks filmed or photographed. It doesn't make sense and it's not very smart either. Maybe they don't need the money...
Now let's suppose you had a chance of having your truck filmed for a TV commercial or, better yet, for a movie! How great would that be? Let's also suppose that some TV producer decided to create a new series based on the 1940's, 1950's or 1960's. Wouldn't he(she) need a lot of cars from those eras? And if the series became a hit the vehicles would be used again and again.
Yeah. It it possible and it's not even too hard. You just have to promote your vehicle in the right places. There are companies out there looking for vehicles exactly like yours. Many companies in fact. They look for classic trucks for sale and they buy them. They look for classic cars of all types and they pay rent to the car owners in order to film the cars. There are companies that go after owners of classic cars, old trucks and hot rods in order to list these vehicles in large databases. Advertising agencies put ads in the papers when they need an old car or pickup truck for a TV commercial. Keep your eyes open because your big chance may come from that direction.
If you have a good set of pictures of your little jewel you're one step closer to fame and fortune. Well, may be not fortune but fame is possible...
A movie production company may need classic trucks just like yours. They might need your truck to spend, say, three days in Hollywood and a week on location in New York. They would make the arrangements to have the vehicle transported to both places and might even be willing to pay for your expenses to go along. You would see how a movie is made and you could even end up meeting a couple of famous movie stars just because you own an antique truck.
The producer of a movie or a TV commercial may be looking for a beautifully restored old car, one that looks like it came out of the showroom a couple of days ago. But directors want their films to look real. Therefore they may need a regular classic vehicle, one that shows it's been used. And they might even need a real wreck, a rust bucket so to speak. Your chances are real, no matter what condition your truck is in. Don't be ashamed of it. Go ahead and try.
And how does this thing work? First you have to find an agent, a company that has the contacts and knows where to go with your truck pictures. Get listed on their databases and be patient. You might get a call the following morning but it could also take a couple of years.
Here are a few suggestions of sites you can visit to learn more about this:
MovieVehicles.com
OldCarLocator.com
Cornwell & Sheridan Motor Cars
TVParty.com
Classic-Chassis.com
If you're really committed to the idea of having your vehicle on a movie or a TV commercial you may do what actors do. Have a professional photographer take a series of shots of the vehicle and send them to advertising agencies or talent agencies. Or have a nice video produced, send it to talent agencies and upload it to YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video and so on. Even wedding planners may be interested in your old truck or classic car. Promote it well and one day you'll get your big break.
And here's another very important thing to keep in mind: don't hide your prized possession in your garage. Take it to shows, go to swap meets and take your chances at show prizes. You may win a simple trophy and you may also get some prize money. But you'll have to make sure your truck is in show condition before you do that. Nobody will allow you enter your classic car or old truck in a car show if the car or truck is not worth showing. Movies and TV commercials might look for regular old trucks or classic cars, but car shows don't. Car shows want the cream of the crop, so to speak.
All of this is true all over the world. Movies are made everywhere these days and so are TV commercials. Classic car and old truck shows are common in almost every country and you can take advantage of that to make money with your truck or classic car.
Money? With old trucks and classic cars? Yep. It's possible mainly because nobody is making trucks like yours anymore.
A classic song?
I'm looking for songs that have been set to play in many movies, television,,. Cartoons, etc. This track is mostly used in the hunt with the background image. And has played most of the brass instruments. It is pretty fast and have no voice. I think it is a piece of classical music. But I do not know much about it. Sorry, I can not be explained by any Any hope you can help in finding it.

The Function of the Electric Motor in the Hybrid Car
How the Battery System Works
When you're learning about something new, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of relevant information available.
This informative article should help you focus on the central points.
Hybrid cars are one of the latest innovations in the auto industry today. It makes it possible for people to save a lot of money from the rising cost of fuel and also makes it possible for everyone using a hybrid car to help in conserving the cleanliness of the environment.
With a hybrid car, you will save a lot of money from the constantly rising gasoline prices and at the same time, help in lessening the pollution level.
Hybrid cars today are getting more and more popular. In fact, more and more people are now considering getting rid of their gas-guzzling conventional car and purchase a hybrid car which can benefit them more.
However, not all people can really see the benefits of hybrid cars. Some people think that hybrid cars tend to be more expensive than conventional cars. But what they don’t see is the long term benefits that a hybrid car can offer.
If you compare hybrid cars to conventional cars, you will see that once you compute the total amount of gasoline you have to use during the car's lifetime, youwill save more on the hybrid car even if it is more expensive in the retail price department.
As you can clearly see, a hybrid car is much more fuel efficient than conventional cars. You may now ask how it works and how hybrid cars are able to achieve fuel efficiency than conventional cars.
First of all, hybrid cars are what you can describe as a cross between a conventional gasoline-powered car and an electric-powered car. It uses both energy sources to run the car and has two engines. One is the gasoline engine and the other is the electricity engine.
It's really a good idea to probe a little deeper into the subject of a"hybrid car". What you learn may give you the confidence you need to venture into new areas.
Hybrid cars operate on fuel when it is running and it runs on electricity when it is idle.
For example, imagine starting up your car in your garage and you forgot something inside your home. Because the car is running idle it will automatically switch off the gasoline engine and activate the electric engine to run your car. After 30 minutes of looking, you finally found that important thing you forgot. During those 30 minutes, you will save gasoline because your car is running on electricity. It will switch back to the gasoline engine once you stepped on the accelerator pedal.
There are two main kinds of hybrid cars existing today. One is the parallel hybrid car and the other is the series hybrid car. In parallel hybrid cars, both the electric motor and batteries, and the gasoline engine are connected to the transmission. This means that both motors will be able to run the car independently and can provide propulsion power.
In the series hybrid car, the gasoline is not connected to the transmission. It is only connected to the generator to charge the battery or to power the electric motor to provide propulsion.
The batteries in hybrid cars are the energy storage device for the electric motors. In hybrid cars, the electric motor is able to draw power from the batteries as well as put energy into them. This means that when the electric motor is running, it can continually recharge the batteries inside the hybrid car.
Today, a hybrid car's batteries are able to recover power when the brakes are applied. It can also recharge energy generated by the motor.
With all of these benefits, hybrid cars are the cars of the future.
It can efficiently save fuel, it can run quietly, it has low toxic fume emissions, and it can also save you a lot of money from huge tax breaks for hybrid car buyers.
There's no doubt that the topic of "hybrid car" can be fascinating. If you still have unanswered questions about "hybrid car", you may find what you're looking for in the next article.
to determine the characteristics of electric circuits when light bulbs are connected in series and parallel?
i want to know the different characters when lightbulbs are connected in series when using ONLY light bulbs, wires and batteries and the same with parallel.
All the light bulbs in your home are in parallel.
If a bulb is 230 volts [or 120 in the USA] you need to connect them all in parallel in order to make sure they are all at the correct voltage.
ALL bulbs in parallel are at the mains voltage.
If one bulbs goes the rest stay on.
The only time you connect bulbs in series is for Christmas tree lights which are lots of little low voltage lights.
You connect 10 volt lights in series then 12 of them go across the 120 volt mains or 23 go across the 230 volt mains
Therefore lights in series share the voltage. ie. 10 bulbs in series on 100 volts all get 10 volts each.
The main problem with series connection is that if one bulb goes they all go off and you don't know which one has blown.

Jenni Baird Talks About Her Character on the 4400
The fourth season premiere of The 4400 featured the new head of the National Threat Assessment Command (NTAC) as Meghan Doyle. Who she is and where she came from, we all do not know as of the moment, but the actress who plays the role, Jenni Baird, was kind enough to let us in on a little trivia regarding her character.
In a conversation with TVGuide last week, the Australian actress said that she believes her character is "quite different from everybody else" and she is very much looking forward to how people will react to her.
Little is known of the character as of now, however, the first episode presented her as a strong woman who wasn't afraid to go and bend, if not break some rules. Meghan was also immediately put in action when she chased Grahan Holt (played by Cameron Bright), a new character in the series.
"I was running in a parking lot right off the bat, watching Tom load his gun! (Meghan) doesn’t have any of that kind of experience, so she really has to just run with it without much prep," Baird said of her character’s action sequence. "But she’s not one of those tightly wound characters; she’s not a stiff corporate type."
Baird adds that her character on The 4400 is more of an intellectual person, thus viewers can always catch her "improvising as she goes".
Another angle yet to be explored in the fourth season of the series is Meghan's relationship with NTAC Agent Tom Baldwin (played by Joel Gretsch). Baird said that at one point, there will be a romantic spark between Meghan and Tom, however she said that the show need not rush things as Tom just lost his beloved Alana (Karina Lombard) and is still in the process of healing.
Baird added that in comparison to the former NTAC director, Nina Jervis (Samantha Ferris), Meghan is not "strict and stern" like her predecessor. Also, Meghan's personal life will be explored in the series as well, something that wasn't done with Ferris' character.
Baird explained, "Come episode 2 or 3, you see Meghan dealing with her father being on death’s door, you see a more emotional side to her."
Baird's previous production credits include Metropolis, Justice and Conviction.

Who is your favorite character in the Twilight Series?
i love the twilight series, but i dont have a favorite character. i love all of them!
I don't need to think hard for this one. Edward. I love his old-fashioned-ness and I wish more guys were like him. Respectable and understanding, you know? Plus I love pianists. Gosh, Edward must have some really nice hands. (I have a thing for artists, pianists, and really nice hands.)
Jasper is my second favorite. I was really upset about the guy playing him in the movie, but then I youtubed him and saw him acting and then it wasn't so bad. I'm not completely satisfied, but I can live.
Emmet. Oh. My gosh. I think he's hilarious; I love how he's always laughing at Bella and her clumsiness! It's so funny! "Fall down again, Bella?" HA! So yeah. He's my third favorite.
I don't really like Alice. Is that weird? I just don't really like her. Or Rosalie, obviously, and not Esme either.
