Where can I buy A SINGLE replacement Grover machine head for my guitar?
Hello,
I need a replacement Grover machine head for the high/ top E string on my electric guitar. The guitar is a DEAN ML 79. I believe the tuners on it are Grover rotomatics, 3+3, and have a nickel finish. I can't seem to find anywhere in the United Kingdom that sells single Grover machine heads though.
If someone could advise me on this matter, it would be much appreciated.

You usually have to buy full sets, not just single ones, so your best bet is Ebay... Someone is bound to put spares and repairs on, they always do, and if not, you'll be able to pick up a cheap set...

is a 1 farad capacitor good enough for a 500W amp?
My car is an 09 mustang and appears to not like bridging my amp to 500W on my 12" kicker cvr, my sound system is the shaker 500 and the car also has heated seats, mood lights, etc to power. when i bridge the amp to 500w, the computer readings go haywire and my lights dim bad, also kills the battery pretty easily if the engines not running which forced me to only use 250w on one channel.. sounds like crap. i tapped into the rear speakers with an rca converter then ran an amp and sub to give it an good kick. i had my battery and alternator both tested and they read good. will a 1 farad capacitor stop the voltage drop issues?
cap's are near useless for car audio. they are nothing but a gimmick to get your money . google 'the big 3 ' and do that instead . it will work 10x better.
you need to check your wiring, you should not be having those type of problems with just 500 watts rms.

You have two options, have the body routed out and a purchase a new pick guard to accommodate the larger humbucker or another option is to purchase a "stacked humbucker" and have that installed.
Stacked Humbucker are pickups that have the same footprint as a traditional single coil pickup, but are actually two coils stacked one on top of another to achieve the "humbucking" of a dual coil pickup.

Why Use Electronic Ignition?
Before electronic ignition systems were developed, ignition control of an engine was undertaken using mechanical distributors. In distributor-based systems, the distributor directs the output from a single high-tension (HT) ignition coil to the relevant spark plug. Control over the timing of ignition is done through a cam operated contact breaker, centrifugal weights, springs and cams, with ‘load mapping' done through using a vacuum advance unit.
These distributor-based systems are prone to mechanical wear, insulation break down and contact failure. To keep the ignition timing correct these systems require a periodic ‘tune up' to keep them working correctly.
Modern electronic ignition systems do not require a distributor. A single small HT coil is used for each spark plug and the igniter operates each coil separately in the correct sequence.
Engine position information is provided by engine position sensors and a timing disks that are accurately attached to one or two of the main engine shafts, such as the camshaft. The firing sequence and variable spark advance is computed accurately from the pattern of teeth or pegs on the timing disk. If load mapping is required, this can be achieved by adding a manifold pressure sensor or a throttle angle potentiometer to the system. A variety of extra features are available on such systems, which can be accessed and adjusted by a PC.
The main advantages of electronic ignition systems:
Electronic Ignition systems provide extremely accurate spark timings, leading to improved combustion and emissions control. As there is no mechanical contact there is no wear therefore the accuracy is maintained. These reasons are why electronic ignition is used as standard throughout the industry.
Deactivating cylinders in my V6?
I have a V6, and I want to basically set up a switch to turn off 3 cylinders at speeds of 40+ or so to save gas. Can I basically just run the wires from 3 injectors to a triple pole single throw switch and hit it whenever I want? Will I have to fool my oxygen sensor into putting out the right voltage with a potentiometer and a battery? Will I have to alternate between the 3 cylinders for some reason? ...and most importantly, will this work?
No, it will not work, as to manually trick the computer for one, and to try and switch off injectors, and such. There is more to their deactivating thing than just what you described. Let alone, every person would be too slow to compensate for hills and stepping on the gas and such.

Single Vs Multiple Dial Combination Locks
Combination locks are the most common type of lock around for smaller objects. It usually consists of a sequence of symbols and numbers. These locks have been around since the thirteenth century. The lock has a pin and each number from the combination releases a piece of the puzzle so to speak. Combination locks are a little more complicated when it comes to cracking the code. Even if an intruder figures out the combination it does not end there. They will still have to find out the variation of how the numbers are used. Combination locks are significantly better than most multi-dial and keyed locks, however it is not recommended for high security purposes.
The most common type of lock is the original combination lock. Combination locks are very simple to use, usually including a number or symbol sequence to unlock the code. The first lock of sorts was created in the 13th century by an Arab inventor and engineer. There are two common types of combination locks in circulation of every day use, multiple-dial locks and single-dial locks.
Multiple-dial locks are one of the simplest types of combination locks, often seen on low-security bicycle locks and briefcases. It is described as using several rotating discs with notches cut into them. The lock is secured by a pin with several teeth on it which hook into the rotating discs. When the notches in the discs align with the teeth on the pin, the lock can be opened. The simplicity of this lock has considered it to be the least secure of all lock variations because most locks do not require the exact combination to open.
Single-dial locks are combination locks normally found on padlocks or safes which may use a single dial which interacts with several parallel discs. Single-dial locks are also common on school and gymnasium lockers. In most cases, this type of lock is opened by rotating the dial clockwise to the first numeral, counterclockwise to the second, and so on in an alternating fashion until the last numeral is reached; when the correct combination is entered, the notches align, allowing the latch to fit into them and open the lock. Depending on the quality of the lock, some single-dial combination locks can also be defeated relatively easily. Yet, this is still significantly better security than multiple-dial locks and many keyed locks, but unacceptable for high security applications.
Despite the simple nature in the name of a combination lock, figuring out the combination is only the first step in breaking the code because both types require the correct variation in the entry of the numbers or symbols.
