Point of Sale Display Stand For DVD????

MAking one in gcse graphics and I want to have two hand holding the dvd. What could the hands be made from and how could i make one?

Get a pair of thick rubber gloves (like the ones people sometimes use to wash dishes). Fill them with plaster mix from any DIY store. Then get a metal coat hanger or some strong, but bendable, metal wire. When the plaster has almost set, insert the wire and allow the plaster to harden. At this stage you could remove the glove and paint, or leave the gloves on. You can then bend the wire into the desired shape and even attach to a base board so the hand appear to be floating. The wire should be strong enough to hols the hands but still be a bit springy so should look like they are moving slightly.

Depending on what the DVD is about you might want to setup the hands slightly differently. For example, if the DVD was a horror DVD you could snap a couple of fingers and paint to make it look like it is bleeding. If it is a Sci-Fi DVD you could scratch the surface of the plaster then paint to make it look like an aliens pair of hands.

Possiblities are endless! But if you do decide to do this you need to make sure the plaster mix is runny enough to get into the very bottom of all the fingers in the gloves. Make sure you have no air bubbles and be prepared to make a mistake the first time and have to start again. When inserting the wire, make a loop on the end you are inserting to ensure it doesn't simple fall back out once the plaster has set.
