fender strat good buy or bad?
Im buying a Fender American deluxe strat from a friend and hes selling it for £500 its from 1997. it has minor buckle rash on the back and the "c" is missing from stratocaster on the headstock decal because its a decal on the top of the laquor and the"c" started to peel so he cut the "c" off
do you think this is a good deal?

Hello! If the headstock decal is partially detached, the guitar has been exposed to some severe temperature changes, which could have affected the integrity of the body and neck. Look carefully for any signs of warpage or cracks. The minor buckle rash is not a big deal, but it is an indication as to how the instrument has been treated. Make sure everything is operational, both electronics and hardware. As far as the cost, $758 is a good price, but not a steal. Given that everything is fully functional and in good condition, $600 to $700 (396 to 462 pounds) would be a more appropriate amount, especially considering the current worldwide economy situation. Squier stratocaster or standard stratocaster?
i am a young guitarist who has been playing acoustic guitar for several months and am now interested in playing the electric guitar. i am planning on getting a new guitar (specifically a fender stratocaster or telecaster) for christmas, but i do not have a big budget. i supposedly COULD cough up the 500 dollars for a standard fender stratocaster if i had to, but i am wondering if the difference in sound between a squier and standard fender is really worth the extra money. also, do you recommend me getting a standard telecaster or standard stratocaster?
No need to try them both.. The standard Strat is a way better buy than any Squier on the market. The squier strats have a rough fingerboard on the edges and the hardware is total garbage. At least, on a standard strat, the neck is much smoother and the hardware will last.
As for the sound, no comparison. You may think it is the same but isn't.

Fender Vintage Tone start?.
I was there. Squier Fender Stratocaster with the 2006 model of the ancient '57 In other words, it is wired and models such as '57 Fender start even though some people say is a little different in tone, with two knobs, I just heard. dont freaking differece between 0-10 in the head of any one, no matter what is on the pickup,. Can someone please help me?

The Fender Stratocaster
An icon in the musical industry and one of the big 3 enduring guitars models, the Fender Strat was designed by Leo Fender, George Fullerton and Freddie Tavares in 1954 and has been manufactured since The Stratocaster is noted for its bright, clean and 'twangy' sounds. The neck pickup has a mellower, fuller and louder sound compared to the brighter and sharper tone of the bridge pickup. The Fender Strat's design was radically sleek and its contoured body shape marked a significant difference to the more solid design of the Telecaster. With Double cutaways it allowed players easier access to higher positions on the neck, combined with a single knob to control the volume on all 3 pickups it allowed for easier sound manipulation with the right hand whilst playing. Early finishes on the guitar on generally sunburst however in during the 70's there was a switch towards more natural finishes on the guitar.
The Strat features 3 single coil pickups, the output was originally selected by a 3-way switch, however guitarists were quick to discover that if you jammed the switch between the first and second position the bridge and middle pickups could be selected, and similarly, the middle and neck pickups could be selected between the 2nd and 3rd position. As this trick became widespread responded with their own 5 way pickup selector that has now been a standard feature since 1977.
Buddy Holly was one of the first users of the Strat and used it in almost all of his songs with The Crickets. During Peggy Sue Crickets rhythm guitarist Niki Sullivan wasn't required so he would stand by Buddy and switch the selector switch from the neck pickup to the bridge pickup for the guitar solo.
Since 1998, many high-end US-made Fender Stratocasters such as the American Deluxe, American, Hot Rodded American, American Special and American Standard series came with an HSH pickup rout instead of a "swimming pool" (or "bath tub") cavity to increase the total amount of wood that actually can resonate, producing a more complex tone.
When Fender was taken over by CBS in 1965 players noted a loss in quality of the guitars and they fell out of fashion for a period, however blues-influenced artists of the late 60's adopted the Stratocaster as their main instrument which helped to revive the guitars popularity. In recent times, some Stratocasters manufactured from 1954 to 1958 have sold for more than US$175,000.

Stratocaster deluxe or Les Paul Studio (Both 1200 dollars)?
My likes and disslikes on both
1. The les Paul seems harder to play
2. The Les paul seems like it would give me a better image
3. The Stratocaster has a wammy bar
4. I could get a very good stratocaster
5. Its not the best brand of Les Paul being the cheapest at 1200 dollars.
6. I like wailing guitars and playing like more slash a jimmy page stuff and they both use les pauls
6. If I get the hss it will have both humbuckers and single coil pickups.
Are the humbuckers the same on a les paul and strat?
Which one should I get?
And the Strat just feels better.

The small dots are easier but the pear looks better
i would get the les paul, ater all, les pauls have humbuckers and strats, well most of them, have single coil pick ups. they also sound and look better. even if its a les paul studio, its better than most strats. but if you like heavy chunky sounds, try out the les paul BFG, its a really stripped down version of the les paul, you can get more details on gibson's website www.gibson.com . anyways, if possible, i'd save some more money to get a more decent les paul, if possible that is. i love slash and jimmy page's wailing sound too. thats one of the main reasons why i got a les paul! when i switched from strat to les paul, i loved it! i highly reconmend the les paul, and try to get a better one if possible.
btw you can also get les pauls with whammy bars, but they are more expensive and harder to find.

How much would my guitar sell for?
I have a Fender Squire Stratocaster but I don't know the year. What I do know is that it says "20th Anniversary" on the back so that might mean its 2002. I was thinking I could get 50 for it. Let me know if this is too high.
if it ain't beat to death your probably on the mark,
there a cheap guitar to start with so don't expect too much.
now if it were a real strat the date of manufacture would usually be under the neck plate at the body, but I've never even picked up a squire as I have no interest in Chinese guitars
