Can an Epiphone Les Paul Special II GT's tremolo bridge be replaced with a Floyd Rose locking one?
How much would it cost in total?
It can be replaced with one but it requires a lot of work. You have to cut out a spot for the tremolo to fit right which I would leave to the professionals. Furthermore, if you want it to be a double locking (lock on the neck as well) professional modifications will have to be made to the neck as well. Worse off, other than going to your local musical instrument retail or looking for a used one online on eBay or Craigslist, I don't know where you could find one. You might try looking into a Kahler, which are similar, but quite expensive, or a Bigsby which are easier to set up and lighter on the wallet. You can find a Bigsby on www.musiciansfriend.com and a kahler at www.kahler.com I believe. Again you can also look for a used one of any of these on eBay, just try to keep in mind how much work will have to be done to get it setup even after spending the money to get it in the first place. What came in the box with you Line 6 Spider Jam?
I bought a new spider jam amp yesterday but it was the one on display in the shop, because it was the last one they had. They didn't have the box, but It had a sealed bag in the back with the manual and warranty stuff. There was also some stuff the shop owner forgot in there: a spare tremolo spring, some Allen wrenches and a low quality sound cable. So I was wondering if there was anything missing that would have been included in the box (CD ,foot switch ,SD card...). If you still remember what came in the box with your Spider Jam, please help, otherwise do not post an uncertain answer. Thanks in advance.
I doubt that the amp comes with a foot switch. But call Guitar Center. I'm sure they will be able to tell you what all comes with the amp.

Help With Guitar Vocab?
hello fellow musicians. im new to guitar and in turn new to music. i need to find a site or something that will teach me terms like 'tremolo' and 'vibrato' and break it down for me. i also have found use in online guitar lessons (i'd rather go with the free ones) but i need to learn, understand and breakdown terms like 'bend' and 'sticatto'

Is it possible to change the bridge of my guitar to a Kahler bridge tremolo system?
I own a Squier SE Special Stratocaster and I was wondering if it was possible to install a Kahler tremolo on it. If it is possible, what kind (series) would be good for my guitar?
Also, is it possible to install a locking nut system?

Hello there,
Yes it is possible to make this modification. However, there are some things you should consider. This swap will not be a simple bolt on procedure. You will need to make some modifications to your guitar.
First is the price. The Kahler bridge and nut will cost you about what your guitar is worth.
Second is the modifications needed. Your Squier has a Fender style tremolo bridge. It uses 6 screws to attach the bridge to the body. The Kahler uses a 2 point system. You will have to drill two mounting holes into the body for the studs on which the Kahler rests. Because the Kahler bends up and down, you will have to change the cavity routed for the bridge to accomodate the Kahler. The spring cavity on the back will not need to be modified. It does take some experience with electric routers to make a clean job on these modifications. If you cannot do the modifications, you are going to have to pay a guitar tech to install the Kahler bridge.
Third neck modifications. The Squier does not have a double locking system and therefore has a simple nut on the neck. The Kahler will need a locking nut on the neck. The nut slot will have to be routed to accept the locking nut. Depending on whether you get a top mount or bottom mount nut, holes will have to be drilled to mount the new nut.
There are top mount Kahler bridges, I do not think those would be good for this project. You will want a Kahler that resembles a Floyd Rose, something along the lines of a Kahler Spyder.
So, yes, it is possible to make the modifications to install a Kahler, but the cost will probably be prohibitive.
